Screen Resolution
Screen resolution refers to the size of your screen, and the amount of content it can display. www.bailliegifford.com is best viewed with screen resolution 1024x768 and upwards. If you would like to change the resolution, follow the instructions below.
To change your resolution under Windows:
- From the Start menu, select Settings, and then choose Control Panel. The Control Panel window will appear.
- Open the Display icon. The Display Properties window will appear.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Ensure the Desktop Area is set to 1024 by 768 pixels. Note: If it is available, press the Test button. If the screen appears blank, it will return to normal in 5 to 15 seconds. You will need to contact your computer vendor/manufacturer for assistance in changing the resolution setting.
- Choose the OK button. Note: You may be prompted to re-boot your computer. Choose the OK button to restart your computer.
To change your resolution on a Mac:
- From the Apple menu, select Control Panels. You will either have the option Monitors & Sound or Monitors.
- If the option is Monitors & Sound:
a. Open the Monitor icon.
b. From the list of available resolutions, select the resolution you wish to use. Your screen resolution will change instantly.
c. Close the Monitors and Sound window.
- If the option is Monitors:
a. Ensure that the Show pull-down menu option is set to Recommended.
b. From the list of available resolutions, select the resolution you wish to use. Your screen resolution will change instantly.
c. Close the Monitors window.
Java
Some of the features on this site require that Java be enabled in your browser.
Caching
The cache is used to keep local copies of frequently accessed documents, reducing the time connected to the network. If the contents of a page do not seem to be updating, your browser may have cached this page in error - press and hold the 'Shift' key and mouse click on the Refresh/Reload button on your browser to clear the cache for that page.

Deleting Cookies
You can easily delete any cookies that have been installed in the cookie folder of your browser. To delete cookies in:
Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies
Netscape go to Tools -> Cookie Manager -> Manage Stored Cookies -> Remove All Cookies
Once you delete these files, you will have no more cookies and your browser will no longer send or receive new cookies.
